[Fictional] [In-Game]

The Traffic and Highway Patrol Command have launched a new road-safety database which will increase the intelligence to combat high-risk, extreme and erratic driving behaviours, and those with a history of licence and drink/drug driving offences, who pose the highest risk to the community on the road.

The Regional Targeted Aggressive Road Driving has seen intelligence shared from Metropolitan and Regional field operations areas allowing for the appropriate allocation of resources to reduce road trauma towards zero.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Commander, Assistant Commissioner Tyler T, said the new Regional Targeted Aggressive Road Driving will result in more stream line targeting enforcement for the Traffic Strike Force.

"The initiative is aimed at improving the safety of motorists and pedestrains, similar to repeat domestic violence and drug offenders police are seeking to remove these peoples ability to access the roadway".

"Police resources will also be better utilised and can now be diverted into road safety intiatives and other investigations".

"With the implmentation effective from midnight, we are strongly urging all motorists go online to our website and learn how to report dangerous or negilent driving matters"

Key Changes:

  • The database allows for police to target road offenders In a similar manner to how repeat domestic violence and drug offenders are targeted by dedicated Police units, the Strike Force targets high-risk drivers with a known dangerous history and multiple repeat offences.

  • Strike Force Puma, commonly called SF Puma, has been merged with the Traffic Strike Force and will target drivers who display extreme and erratic behaviours, those with a history of drink/drug driving offences, who pose the highest risk to the community on the roadway, street racers and will support local Highway Patrol in targeted patrols and operations. The Traffic Strike Force provides a surge capacity where Police can saturate specific areas with patrols based on intelligence and local requests, along with providing the ability to conduct large scale traffic operations such as mass random breath and drug testing.

The Traffic Strike Force targets high-risk drivers with a known dangerous history and multiple repeat offences. The team also investigates video footage obtained by Police of dangerous driving from sources such as social media and dash cams.

The strike force also conducts long term operations such as Operation Free Flow and Operation Mercury, targeting main arterial roads.
